There must be more “world class” musicians per square miles in County Clare than on any other place on the planet and of all the places in the world I have travelled to or worked in, something keeps pulling me back to Doolin. Is it the music, the people, the history and culture or the unique and wonderful scenery and landscape? probably a combination of all of them that makes Doolin a truly magical place. “here's to better times ahead for all of us” = Amen to that Eugene and hope that 2021 will see people from all over the world being able to return to Doolin and the Islands again, if not immediately then perhaps from the springtime onwards. I can’t tell you how much I have missed just being in Doolin and all the folks there last year. Like everyone I am just praying 2021 and the New Vaccines will prove to be a real turning point. Very best wishes to you all for a Happy and Properous New Year.

We've been to Doolin three times and all three times we've seen Blackie and Cyril at McGann's and McDermott's. All three times were completely mind-blowing!! Packed pub and everyone having a fantastic time listening to the amazing music made by these two fine and super talented musicians. We adore Ireland!! And we are mad for trad music. Blackie and Cyril are indeed the perfect combination and where the term “the whole is greater than the sum of two parts” was never more true. Both extraordinarily gifted musicians who have given so much joy to people from all over the world and leave us all with lifelong happy memories. Many thanks for posting this Eugene, keep safe and well all.

Another fascinating insight and some hilarious stories. Absolutely spot on Patsy that’s preciously why people like me come back to Doolin every year from all over the world...the character and spirit of its people, the Aran Islands, the beauty of the Burren and coastline and of course the pubs and music, and as we all know...”Clare's the home of the music”. Many thanks also Eugene for including a slice of the sublime Dubhlinn set at 4:03 (the end of Up Downey just before the lads break into the Malbay Shuffle I believe?)...they are truly “world class“ musicians! God bless and keep safe all...the green shoots of recovery are hopefully just starting to emerge thank goodness.

Greetings from England, good stuff again guys, many thanks and just keep them coming, they are brilliant! And yes, a Wednesday night at McDermotts is an absolute must for everyone during the season when Dubhlinn are in full flow, they just blow me away every time and consequently their music is constantly on in my car. Which brings me back to the Flags of Dublin, as it was at McDermotts that I first heard Tom Delaney play after I got talking to him in O’Donahue’s about 15 years ago, I think he’s now (or was) living in Dingle with Caroline from the Four Winds? (so does that make Tom a Blow-Out now?) Anyway, at 2:29 you have one of the greatest Uilleann Pipers on the plant, one of the best Trad fiddle players I have ever seen and in my humble opinion one of Ireland’s finest balladeers and song writers, so please could we have some Dubhlinn in your next posting (The Windbroke set is just on another planet) but all their work is just amazing, surely they are the new Planxty? (or I have I just committed heresy?) See you all in Sept...hopefully! Meanwhile, God bless you all in Doolin and keep safe everyone.❤️

I am going to have to stop watching these, they are making me so melancholic and sad, even just thinking of being able to walk on the Burren and oh to be in McDermott’s on a Wednesday night with Dubhlinn when the lads are absolutely on fire....a glimpse of Heaven if ever there was one.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Greetings from England (yes I know, another bloody Brit blow-in) but it makes my Heart and Soul so full of happiness to hear and see you guys. Missing you all and hoping I will be in Doolin for my annual trip again in Sept when hopefully I can travel by then (God willing). Thinking of you all and the difficulties for all concerned on the West Coast - the B&B’s, tourist attractions, the pubs and of course those wonderful musicians at McGann’s and McDermott’s...fabulous sessions, craic and lifelong happy memories. Still at least I have their music to play for now, Blackie, Cyril, Geraldine and the rest of those “World Class” musicians that Clare seems to produce in abundance (but not a patch compared to seeing them live though eh?). So, why the “Flags of Dublin” as your music background with Tom Delaney on the Uilleann Pipes?...another blow-in. (The Four Winds I assume). Keep the videos coming guys they are brilliant (you are brilliant). God bless you all and kept you safe and well in Doolin.

Jag glömde, Doolin var, när jag var där, folkmusikens mecka. Jag tältade strax efter bron över ån som rann genom byn

när jag ser den här reklamfilmen börjar jag gråta. Trots att jag längtat i många år nu att resa tillbaka till inishmore så har jag avstått av rädsla för huir mycket skulle kunna vara förändrat och kommmersialiserat. Jag åkte fraktbåt från Galway, det fanns ingen hamn, klättrade ner för lejdare och blev hämtad av en traditionell roddbåt, curraugh, Ingen elektricitet, häst och vagn, folk bar vadmalskläder o.s.v. Slutet på 60-talet och oförglömligt att sitta vid torvbrasan i köket , jordgolv och mannen i huset berättade om massor av olika saker. Om hur man gjorde jord till de små åkerlapparna, tångens betydelse, sagor, berättelser om tröjornas mönster . Vi vandrade efter vägen och stannade och frågade om vi kunde få inkvartering. Inte svårt alls att få napp. Vi var där flera dagar innan vi tog fraktbåten till Galway igen. Som svensk i sällskap med en medlem i den familj jag hälsade på. Familjen bodde norr om Dublin. Co meath

Will never ever take the ferry again. We were tossed about like a toy on the open sea with water coming into the boat while many were severely seasick. We were afraid we would never make it.
